Mesa 15 – Spanish Inspiration & Tradition

。Mesa 15 – 創意與傳統兼顧的西班牙菜。

為了慶祝對食很有要求的友人生日,用餐地點絕不能馬虎,於是來到遷址到蘭桂坊的Mesa 15。以前餐廳在荷李活道舊址時已曾光顧,素質絕對有保證,抱著期望來到,幸而沒有令友人失望。

Mesa 15 was chosen as the venue to celebrate my friend’s (a food lover) birthday. I have visited Mesa 15 while it was located on Hollywood road, but not yet to this new location at Lan Kwai Fong. The quality was so good that my friends had real good time here.

午市來到,店內人不多,因已先預約,所以安排到坐在窗邊的位置。午市餐牌,不論是前菜及主菜都有4款選擇。在上前菜前,侍者先奉上蕃茄薯仔凍湯,蕃茄味濃,溫度適中,而仍能嘗到麵包的香脆。

The restaurant was not so full during lunch hours. Server brought to the table next to the windows. On th lunch menu, there are 4 options for each appetiser and main course. Before having the appetiser, the server brought the tomato crema leek. The tomato favour was rich but didn’t cover the crispiness and saltiness of the bread.

一行五人,點了不同的前菜,但最受歡迎的是chorizo 腸配炒薯仔雜菜。Chorizo腸鹹香之餘,帶有辣勁,再配上快炒至金黃色的薯仔,十分香口。薯仔與雜菜快炒,而且加了一些帶酸的醃酸菜,醒胃的為主菜作好準備。

Among all the appetizer we ordered, the most delicious one has to be grilled Chorizo with pan-fried potatoes and vegetables. The chorizo was so spicy and salty that it brought more favour to the vegetables.

主菜選了推介的章魚飯,一上菜,飯香撲鼻,章魚煮得香軟,輕輕一咬已可以食到。飯以辣椒和章魚汁,色澤較深,但卻食到章魚的味道。少量的辣椒,給你一點刺激的感覺,但就是那一點點,恰到好處。

Chose the Signature Octopus & Panetta Rice as main course. It smelled so good when the server brought it to us. Octopus was cooked to a soft buy chewy texture. With some chili and the soup of octopus, the rice was pan-fried into a light red color. You can taste the octopus in the rice with a little spicy of the chili. Just perfect.

甜品絕對有驚喜,這天有兩款不同甜品選擇,剛有大家都想選,兩款都叫了分享。 迷你芝士蛋糕,配上士多啤梨醬,平衡了芝士的膩。而蛋糕的質感剛剛好,不會太硬身,也不會太黏。而讓我一試愛上的,是Pina Colada,概念源自一杯雞尾酒,以乳酪代替了冧酒,菠蘿粒作底,面層放上椰絲。事先放在雪櫃凍過,表層有一種特別的冰涼感,與中間的乳酪和菠蘿截然不同。清新解暑的感覺,你又怎能不愛上?

Desserts were full of surprise. We ordered all (2) options from the menu, Mini Cheese Cake with Strawberry Jam and Pina Colada. The strawberry jam balanced the taste of cheese cake. However, the Pina Colada was even better. The concept came from the cocktail with the same name. Chef used yogurt instead of rum and kept the main ingredient (pineapple and coconut). It was prepared in advance as the cold texture on the surface was so different from the yogurt and pineapple in the bottom. What’s not to love?
