La Vache = Cow! (and something else)

。「牛氣逼人」在La Vache。

要食到好素質的牛扒,但預算有限,而又想食多一點點牛扒以外的東西,La Vache絕對是一個不錯的選擇。這天和一班同學來這裡聚會,每位都是「食得之人」,來到這裡,主菜清一色的只有:沙律、牛扒、薯條。

If you want to enjoy good quality of steak and something else (just a bit), La Vache would be a good option. Came here for a gathering with schoolmates who are all food lovers. We knew that all La Vache served on main menu are: green salad, steak and unlimited fries.

先來一道青菜合桃沙律,沙律醬汁酸而醒胃,配著香口的合桃,先清洗一下你的味蕾和腸胃,為接下來的主菜做好準備。

First of all, refreshing green salad. The acidity of the sauce and crispy walnut would make you get ready for the main course.

重頭戲出現了 — 牛扒。五人同行,四人點了medium rare,一人點了rare,侍者細心的為我們分好牛扒到碟上,留一半的份量在爐上,然後再分發薯條給我們。Medium rare煮得恰到好處,肉質鮮嫩,而肉汁剛好鎖住,而放在爐上的牛扒也沒有因時間而煮得過熟或涼掉。 秘製的Bearnaise sauce剛好提升了牛肉的甜味,如果不想食醬汁的話,簡單下少許黑椒已經很鮮美了。

Here you come the main course, the steak. The server brought us our main course and carefully distributed them to us. Left all of the potions on the plate and gave us the fries. The steak cooked precisely to medium rare. With the softness, it looked so juicy. The remaining steak kept warm but not overcooked while it was kept on the plate with fire underneath. The bearnaise sauce brought out the sweetness of the beef. If you don’t like having sauce, you may simply add a bit pepper.

薯條絕對需要一提,鹹香無比,十分脆身。即叫即炸的,完全不覺得油膩。每次來這裡,總是食薯條食到停不了。

Fries, the most unforgettable item here. Salty and crispy. Freshly fried and not oily at all. I couldn’t stop myself eating it every time I came here.

晚餐時分,不像午餐時段的奉送指定甜品,但你卻會看到精彩的甜品車,載著每層3款甜品,供9款。侍者在你享用完牛扒時便會推過來介紹給你,$78-98/一款的甜品,我們點了蘋果批、焦糖布甸、榛子酥、Eclair和泡芙。泡芙和Eclair都是榛子醬餡料的,表面略硬,面層的焦糖甜度很高,也很脆。蘋果批和焦糖布甸都比較軟身的選擇,甜度也低一點,蘋果是相當入味,糖完全滲入蘋果裡,批底也因糖而軟身了。而這次最佳之選是榛子酥,外層的酥脆,咬下去是卜卜聲的,內裡的榛子餡非常幼滑,香脆與幼滑得天衣無縫。

The desserts at dinner are different from the dessert for set lunch. You can pick what you want from the dessert cart, which carries around 9-10 types of dessert, $78-98/pc. We ordered apple pie, caramel pudding, hazelnut pie, Eclair and hazelnut puff. The puff and Eclair were filled with hazelnut cream. The shell with the caramel was so sweet and hard. The apple pie and caramel pudding would be less sweet choice. My favourite of the night was hazelnut pie.It’s actually like cream horn, with hazelnut filling. The crunchy pastry shell with the smooth hazelnut paste was a perfect match.

位處中環蘇豪區,只要你不怕爬幾步山,也享受熱鬧的用餐環境,有這麼好質素的食物,約$300一位的價錢非常合理。

The restaurant is located in Soho. If you don’t mind to walk a few steps and dine in a crowded environment, spend around $300 for a meal is quite reasonable.
