Have known Wild Grass for quite a while because of its organic and sustainable ingredients. Came here with a few colleagues for lunch this time as I recently found the set lunch menu very attractive. The restaurant was decorated in a raw and natural way,which matched its concept, so as the presentation of food.
前菜，我們選了4款。第一道自家煙三文魚配fromage blanc 芝士，賣相相當精美。一層隔著一層的芝士和三文魚，配上香脆麵包食用，三文魚肉質厚實，非常鮮美。
For the starters we picked 4 different choices out of 6. Firstly, Verrine of home Smoked Salmon with Fromage Blanc. The presentation of this dish made me find it very adorable and it tasted delicious with the smoked salmon and the cheese. With the crispy bread on the side, you can’t stop yourself from finishing it.
Mediterranean Salad with Roasted Organic Warm Bell Peppers, Tomato, Zucchini’s, Aubergine Caviar & Grated Pecorino Cheese. Wonderful presentation. The bell peppers and tomato are so sweet, so as the Aubergine Caviar. Pecorino cheese somehow tasted very light in the course.
Baked Goat Cheese wrapped in Bayonne Ham, Beetroots, Rocket & Walnuts. A combination of a few super food. You may not be able to think of such a nice presentation like this, but it is really a surprise. The combination of saltiness and sweetness made the course unforgettable.
This last starter, Home Made Pumpkin Ravioli with Pomodoro Sauce, impressed me a lot. You not only can taste the pumpkin, but so as some herbs and fennel in the ravioli.
You may find difficulties to choose your main courses on the menu, since everything looks so interesting. Somehow we managed to choose 4 out of 8 with a combination of fish, chicken and the popular organic beef. First of all, Baked John Dory with Pesto, served with romaine Lettuce & Potato Salad. It came on a wooden board with great pesto flavour. The baked John Dory was well cooked precisely and tasted quite juicy. Wasn’t the texture I expected. Far better than I even thought.
Smoked Haddock Arancini Kedgeree, Organic Poached Egg, Rocket & Hollandaise Sauce. Poached Egg is always something that I like. The smoked Haddock Arancini Kedgeree was firm but not dry. Hollandaise sauce brought it extra moisture and made you much easier to finish the whole dish.
Grilled Wild Organic Rib Eye Steak with Merlot Sauce & Beurre Maitre d’hotel, served with Hand cut Chips, Avocado & Beetroot Salad. A good balance on the meat and vegetables. The steak was natural and organic, which perfectly cooked to medium rare. Avocado & Beetroot salad is a healthier option to the chips on the side.
I guess you don’t want to miss the dessert while the restaurant keeps showing off the nice presentation. The Crumble with honey ice-cream was so delicious. The apple crumble was slightly sour but tasted so nice with the honey ice-cream. The ice-cream was just sweet enough and made you finish the whole dessert.
Citrus Ginger Creme Brulee with Passion Mango Ice Cream. A light dessert you may like at the end of a heavy lunch. The creme brulee was not sweet at all due to the ginger. Passion mango ice cream tasted quite sour to refresh your mind and appetite. Awesome combination!
For set lunch menu on weekdays, you can choose from 6 starters, 5 main courses and 3 a la carte choice of organic beef. 2-courses set menu only costs $180, whereas the 3-courses set menu only costs $198. Quite a reasonable price with this good quality of food in Central.
