。Neighborhood – 恰到好處的味道和份量。
Walked passed the busy Hollywood Road and turned to a small alley to Pak Tsz Lane Park. All in a sudden, it turned into a different world. We went to Neighborhood, which has a simple outlook, modern and chic, with this friendly name. We planned to have a quiet dinner this night and didn’t make reservation beforehand. The server led us to the seat at the bar and explained the menu to us.
A bowl of mushroom veloute to get us prepared for the remaining carbs. It smelled so good when the server brought it to the table. Using tarragon blossoms to decorate the soup was such a nice touch.
Potato gnocchi/ Iberico ham. The presetation was so delicate, which somehow made me think whether the chef is also an artist. The gnocchi was so soft with just perfect seasoned sauce reflecting the nice smell and intensity of the ham. A perfect match.
Bone marrow/kale risotto. The bone marrow was mixed into the risotto which gave you a slightly chewy texture. Part of the bone marrow also melted into the risotto. Would be great if the risotto was cooked a bit harder.
tête de veau blanquette. I was quite curious when the server explained the cooking method and the ingredient of this dish. I couldn’t imagine how it looked at first. The taste was surprisingly good with the tender beef and soft vegetables. The beef even melted in my mouth. A nice one that I would recommend.
Chocolate palette looked simple but the taste was so rich and intense. Made with dark chocolate, the thickness of the cake, when you cut it, let you understand how rich it was.
結賬時，店家還送上小甜品，是用蔗糖做的小蛋糕 (canelé) ，內裡非常鬆軟，忍不住想多食一口。 侍者還說多吃一個無妨，他們是準備給客人用餐後食的，確實十分貼心。
Canelés were served while we settled the bill. The canelé , with a soft custard texture, was made with sucrose. The server was so kind to invite us for another piece of canele when we left. She must have understood that I liked it a lot. 🙂
Each dish is in a small size similar to tapas. Average price of each dish is below HK$180 which is very reasonable Service was so great. Worth a try.
