。Dalloyau – 讓人充滿喜悅的甜點。
Dalloyau, the royal legacy French pasticceria, launched its first branch in Hong Kong last year. It has been one of the top high tea locations, and so as cake shop choices. You would always find a queue at the entrance for queuing the afternoon tea during weekends. Heard about the newly launched petit cake, so I couldn’t stop myself to come and try it.
Once walking into the shop, the colorful macarons attracted us to walk closer to the counter. There were more than 10 different choices and I had no doubt that you could find one you liked.
Not only the macarons, there was a wide range of cakes to choose from. Though the ladies gave us lots of recommendations, I still had difficulties to select what I wanted. The newly -launched Rocher and the signature Dalloyau.
Rocher, covered with a layer of chocolate and nuts, was filled with pauline cream of mixture of caramel, ginger, hazelnut. The cream at the top was so smooth and light. It would be a cake that would make people love and hate. Why would I say that? Those who loved ginger would definitely like it since the ginger flavour was light and refreshing. But those who didn’t like ginger would for sure found it weird.
I looked forward to the signature Dalloyau since some of my friends has recommended it several times, and it’s worth trying. It was covered with a layer of hazelnut all around. The cream was so smooth while the crunchy caramelised hazelnut and almond meringue made a perfect contrast. It was so delicious that made me wow.
